Happy Mindful People Curriculum

The Happy Mindful People Curriculum is a social emotional movement & mindfulness curriculum.

Every class focuses on a new topic intended to help children access skills and tools that support the development of their emotional intelligence.  Join in on one of their community, after school, or in-schools series.  Series range from 4-12 weeks. This course will help each child develop the skills needed to combat the emotional changes that often lead to aggression, angst, and lowered self-esteem.

Through group discussion, role playing, and mindfulness social skill instruction kids learn about the tools to help themselves get relaxed and centered. Combined with guided breathing and techniques to both strengthen and calm each body kids learn about ways to incorporate positive self-talk and the importance of advocating for their needs in any environment whether it is home, school, or at a community activity.

Everyone is given the space and time to share their stories, work and play cooperatively, and grow a strong healthy identity.

My child leaves this class full of life, full of joy, and full of calm. This carries over into our evening and our whole week. The skills and topics they learn in class are not forgotten. This series is a gift for my child and for our family.

Elissa helped me in so many ways. Before her classes, I was in a manic state and was stressed all of the time. But then I found a…well…almost magic place I could go if I was stressed or worried about anything. She gave me probably the best gift in the world…relief. I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you so much. You helped more than you know
— Syd, Age 10
This class really helped me to relax and concentrate on important things that normally make me nervous and tense. They also taught me really good calming techniques.
— Maxeem, age 10

Elissa is such a blessing to our family. Our two children who were exposed to extreme trauma and neglect in their early lives were suffering from its effects. I was desperate to find something that would help them. I turned to Elissa’s kids yoga classes because I was told about her extensive background in working with kids with special needs. We noticed a positive difference after the first class!! Not only did she teach them yoga, but she also taught them how to interact with others, how to be sensitive and kind and how to regulate their emotions. They looked forward to class every week and spoke often about what they learned. Each week, it was clear that Elissa had a plan for the class and catered to the needs of each student. As a family, we now have many tools to work through difficult feelings and to help form positive relationships with others. It’s amazing how the body and mind work together and Elissa has the keys to unlock so much positivity!
